The Comprehensive School Health Education what a statement created by the American Association for Health Education (AAHE) with the belief that the act of education serves a very important role in the promotion of good health as well as the prevention of things like injuries, illnesses as well as premature death amongst children and adolescent ages. In order for this comprehensive health education program to be effective in reaching its points, health education should include the following criteria:
  1. Should be taught to students as a single part of the larger scheme of the coordinated school health program.
  2. The knowledge should be given to students by both pre-serviced as well as regularly in-services school teachers. These teachers should be either certified to teach health education at middle school and high schools, or for elementary should have a solid grounding in health education instruction and competencies.
  3. Should be taught each year for at lease 50 hours.
  4. Should be built upon knowledge that has bee evaluated formally as well as determined to be effective enough for health knowledge improvement, attitude improvement and improvement in the overall literacy of health.
  5. The comprehensive school health education program should be taught in in classes which have “reasonable enrollment” and resonates with educational strategies that provide promotion of health promoting skills development.  25 students is the highest number of students that are aloud.
